Juniors and Seniors! I have decided to post on the blog I use to follow all of yours. I will post my thoughts, things I think will be helpful to you, and encouragement for you as you journey through this school year.
September 6, 2012
In light of some theft around the school lately, I put the following quote up on my board: "All of the money in the world cannot buy integrity, respect or a good reputation." I made it myself, though I am sure others have said it throughout history. The truth behind the words is so influential in life. As juniors and seniors, I hope you really take hold to how important integrity, respect, and a good reputation will become to you in life. In the bubble of high school and life at home, things seem silly; and lies, harmful words, or broken promises don't seem to bear much of a consquence. However, life after high school and a life on your own is quickly approaching. Let me encourage you - you cannot buy the things that are worth the most in this life. Your word will always be worth for more than what is in your pocket. Do people consider your worth less than the paper a dollar is printed on, or do they hold it as an invaluable amount they would never doubt? Make a good name for yourselves; represent yourselves well. Respect is a natural product of integrity and a good name.
I am proud of you all, and I am excited for the blogs you all will create this year!
